[A]t 8:01pm yesterday, Monday 11 September firefighters were called to reports of a dog in distress in the River Eden near to Mayors Drive, Carlisle.
Three fire engines, one from Carlisle East, one from Carlisle West and one from Penrith, attended the incident.
A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews used a boat and swift water rescue equipment to rescue the dog from the water who was then reunited with its owner.
“Crews were at the scene for one and a half hours.”
