The Edington Centre drama group at Eycott Hill Nature Reserve

[T]roublesome trolls, a fabulous frog, and a wicked witch come together to cause mischief and mayhem in a fantastic play by the Edington Centre drama group, inspired by a local nature reserve.

The performance is based on an animated film that the drama group produced with Cumbria Wildlife Trust and Prism Arts that draws on the wildlife, geology, and folklore of Eycott Hill Nature Reserve to create an entertaining tale of an adventure gone wrong!

The play has already entertained many local community groups and schools and will headline an evening of entertainment at The Penrith Playhouse on Saturday 7th October at 6:45pm (doors at 6:00pm). Tickets are £4 and can be ordered by calling The Edington Centre on 01768 212990. There’ll also be a clown act, music, stories, an art exhibition, and more. All funds raised on the night will be donated to The Edington Centre drama group and Cumbria Wildlife Trust.

The Trolls of Eycott Hill

The Edington Centre, a Cumbria County Council run day centre for adults with learning disabilities, has been working with Cumbria Wildlife Trust and Prism Arts since 2015 as part of the Eycott Hill Nature Reserve project. The animated film can be viewed at www.cumbriawildlifetrust.org.uk/eycott-hill and a stunning mixed media exhibition has been displayed in local libraries. The work at Eycott Hill Nature Reserve is possible thanks to National Lottery Players, supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Located between Keswick and Penrith, near to the village of Mungrisdale, Eycott Hill Nature Reserve is 216 hectares of exceptionally rich wildlife habitat and is a Site of Special Scientific Interest for the wetland plants in the swamps and mires and its geology.
