[T]he M6 northbound has reopened after two crashes this morning.

The incident occurred just north of Southwaite Services, between junctions 41 and 42 after a HGV collided with the central reservation and shed its load. The driver was not injured.

All three lanes of the M6 northbound and two lanes of the southbound carriageway were closed between junctions 41 and 42.

A diversion was put in place northbound with traffic leaving the M6 at Junction 41 and following the A6 and re-joining the M6 at Junction 42.

A second road traffic collision occurred on the M6 northbound, just before the initial incident. This involved a van pulling a trailer which jack-knifed when breaking. The driver of the vehicle is not injured.

One lane remains closed for barrier repairs.
