[S]chools across Cumbria are being invited to be part of U.DANCE Cumbria 2018.  Organised by Cumbria County Council, U.DANCE Cumbria supports all of Cumbria’s schools to create high quality creative dance within the curriculum and to celebrate this achievement through performance.  Now in its 18th year U.DANCE Cumbria is a much-loved event and a firm annual fixture on many school calendars.

Performances will take place in Keswick, Carlisle and Workington during March & April 2018, with partners in Kendal & Barrow also organising similar showcase events.

U.DANCE is particularly keen to involve schools who have never previously participated and especially more secondary schools. Lynn Barnes, Dance Cumbria Co-ordinator said:

“Last year we had our first ever secondary schools-only performance at Theatre by the Lake in Keswick which was amazing.  It’s so exciting to see young, emerging talent and to be able to provide a progression route for these young people outside school.”

The simple application process is open now.

The deadline for schools to apply for U.DANCE Cumbria 2018 is Friday 20th October.
