[A]n annual charity golf day hosted by Interserve has helped to raise almost £6,000 to be shared between two Cumbrian charities.

On Friday 14 July a host of fundraising golfers took part in the annual Interserve Golf day at Eden Golf Club. The day of fundraising, which included 14 teams of 3 golfers,  was raising money in aid of Eden Valley Hospice and Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland.

The kindness and generosity of everybody who took part on the day helped to raise a grand total of £5,797.70, with each charity receiving £2,898.85. The money raised on the day will help both charities to provide the highest standards of care and support to local adults and families with life limiting illnesses.

Natalie Bingham, Corporate Fundraiser at Eden Valley Hospice, said ‘’We are delighted that Interserve continue to support us with their annual Golf Day. The NHS provides approximately 28% of our running costs, while the remaining £2million is raised each year by the community. Without the support from local businesses like Interserve, the care we provide simply wouldn’t be possible. They really are helping to make a huge difference’.”

Steve Pearson, Contract Director at Interserve said, “This year we had the pleasure of hosting our annual charity golf day for two great charities – Eden Valley Hospice and Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland. I would like to congratulate those who took part in the fundraising event and say a big thank you to those who contributed so kindly. The £5,797.70 raised will help make a difference to the lives these charities serve.”
