[S]ix members of criminal gang have been jailed for more than 65 years after being convicted of numerous robberies and burglaries across the North West.

The organised crime group were jailed for a total of more than 41 years in August 2016 after being convicted of conspiracy to commit a series of house burglaries.

The same group have now been convicted of a number of robberies and have today been jailed for a total of 23 years and 11 months, bringing the final total to 65 years and six months.

James Blakeborough, (born 16/05/91) of Sandyhill Road, Blackley, Elliott Harrison, (born 15/03/97), of Captain Fold Road, Little Hulton, Sam Chadwick (born 24/09/89) of Farrar Road, Droylsden and Kaileb Harrison (21/12/95), of Captain Fold Road, Little Hulton, had earlier pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery.

Blakeborough was handed an additional seven years whilst Elliott Harrison received an extra seven years and three months.

Chadwick was sentenced to an additional five years, whilst Kaileb Harrison was handed an additional four years eight months.

The group’s robbery rampage lasted for more than two months and targeted cash-in-transit vans between July and September 2015. They lay in wait for the delivery vans then threatened security staff before stealing thousands of pounds. In one robbery they stole almost £15,000 cash while in another they escaped with £20,000. They carried our robberies in Blackley and Middleton, plus an attempted robbery in Heywood.

Blakeborough, Elliott Harrison, Chadwick and Kaileb Harrison were previously jailed in August 2016 for conspiracy to coming domestic burglaries. Kaileb Harrison was jailed for 6 years, 4 months and Elliott Harrison was jailed for 4 years, 9 months. Blakeborough and Chadwick were also convicted of possession of class A drug with intent to supply and jailed for 12 years and 9 years respectively.

Two other men, Leo Abram, (born 02/03/93) of Cartleach Grove, Worsley, and Matthew Royle (born 30/11/79) of Surrey Road, Blackley, were also convicted of conspiracy to commit domestic burglaries and were jailed for 5 years and 4 years, 6 months respectively.

Between October 2015 and February 2016, these men carried out a number of burglaries across Greater Manchester and further afield in Bollington and Lymm in Cheshire, Chorley and Clayton-le-Woods, Lancashire. In one incident they stole a Porsche 911 before stopping in Blackley to pose for photos that they posted on their Facebook account.

Detective Chief Inspector Estelle Mathieson, based at Central Park, said: “This gang left a trail of misery across three police force areas over a period of seven months.

“Not only did they target and steal from cash delivery vans, leaving drivers traumatised, but they ruined peoples’ lives with domestic burglaries all over the region.

“I hope it of some small comfort to their numerous victims that this gang’s own stupidity and arrogance in posting a photo of a stolen Porsche on their own Facebook page contributed to their own downfall.”
