[D]etectives are appealing for witnesses after staff at a betting shop in Lostock Hall were robbed at knifepoint.
Around 9.10pm on Thursday (November 2) two female members of staff where working at the Bet Fred betting shop on Leyland Road, Lostock Hall, when a male entered carrying a knife.
The attacker jumped over the counter and threatened the workers before taking cash from the till and the safe. He pushed the blade of the knife against the cheek of one of the workers causing facial injuries.
As he left the premises it is believed he met with two other attackers before they all made off from the scene.
The main offender is described as male, around 6ft tall and of slim build. He was wearing dark clothing with a dark coloured hat and black trainers with white soles.
Police are appealing for information and urging anyone who witnessed the incident to contact officers.
Det Sgt Jerry Sturgess, of Chorley Investigations Team, said: “We are appealing for information following a serious knife point robbery in a residential area in the Lostock Hall.
“Luckily the staff weren’t seriously hurt but they have been left extremely shaken by this ordeal.
“We suspect those involved may have been in the area some time beforehand.
“I urge anyone with any information at all to come forward.”
