[T]he Mayor of Allerdale, Councillor Mary Bainbridge, is hosting a Christmas dinner on Friday 8 December in aid of her chosen charity, Allerdale Disability Association.
The Dutch-themed festive event will take place at the Workington Royal British Legion Club from 7pm, and includes a three-course meal with cooking demonstrations from Deputy Mayor and local chef, Councillor John Crouch. There will also be a raffle on the evening, with cash prizes, shopping vouchers, a festive hamper and a stay in a local B&B to be won.
Councillor Bainbridge said: “Christmas is always a fantastic time to bring people together and celebrate. This event will not only give people the opportunity to try some alternative festive foods, but also supports a cause that is very close to my heart. I encourage everyone to come along and join in the fun, while also raising money for a deserving local charity.”
Allerdale Disability Association is based at Moorclose Community Centre and provides support, advice and information to people with any disability, from older people to families, everyone is included.
The event is open to members of the public and tickets cost £12 each. For more information or to book, please contact Anya Wilkinson on 01900 702918 or email [email protected].
