
[A] CARLISLE man will be sentenced by a judge next month for the illegal possession of a knife and a controlled drug.
Michael Baird, 44, faced three charges when he appeared at the city’s crown court this morning (WED).
Baird pleaded guilty to having an article with a blade or point – a dinner knife – in public at Carlisle’s Stonegarth. He also admitted damaging a front door belonging to Impact Housing, and the possession of class B phenmetrazine.
All of his crimes were committed on August 22.
Judge Peter Hughes QC adjourned the case for the preparation of background information.
Baird, of Stonegarth, Carlisle, was granted bail and is set to be sentenced at the crown court on January 17.
