[A]t 8:05pm yesterday, Thursday 28 December firefighters were called to a fire at McWhirter’s, Fell View Garage on the B6259 at Nateby.
The fire involved an agricultural maintenance building which contained gas bottles, welding equipment and a vehicle which was inside the building.
A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said: “Four fire engines – from Kirkby Stephen, Appleby, Sedburgh and Shap – attended the fire.
“The crews used two hose reel jets, two covering jets, eight breathing apparatus and two thermal imaging cameras to tackle and put out the fire.
“The crews were at the scene for two hours.”
