[T]here was a great turn out of the brave and hardy at the first fundraising event of 2018 for St Bees RNLI.
The traditional New Years Day Dip at St Bees beach was well attended despite the windy conditions. Everyone enjoyed a refreshing swim in the lively Irish Sea safe in the knowledge that RNLI volunteers and members of Whitehaven Coastguard were in attendance to keep everyone safe.
Afterwards it was back to the lifeboat station for hot drinks and a warm shower. Thanks to Emma Hennessy and Adam Nichol from the Triers for organising the event, which raised around £370.00 for St Bees RNLI.
