[N]etwork Rail engineers are today monitoring the railway across the North West ahead of Storm Eleanor hitting Britain.
Mark Killick, chief operating officer for Network Rail’s London North Western route, said: “The forecast adverse weather is likely to cause some localised flooding on the Cumbrian coast.
“We have Team Orange engineers out monitoring the rail network across the North West ready to respond if needed.
“We’d urge train customers to check before they travel at nationalrail.co.uk and with train operators for the very latest information.”
