Police want to speak to these people

[O]fficers investigating an alleged rape in Carlisle on Christmas Eve have released images of people they would like to speak to who could help with their on-going enquiries.

The people pictured are not sought as possible offenders but as people who may be able to provide important information which would help the investigation.

The group walked up English Street in Carlisle just before 5am on Christmas Eve.

Two men have been charged in relation to this investigation.

Kabir Hussain, 40, of Dod Street, Tower Hamlets, London, has been charged with three counts of rape.

Marco Martins, 31, of Borland Avenue, Carlisle, has been charged with kidnap and sexual assault.

Both men have been remanded to appear at Carlisle Crown Court on 29 January 2018.

Two other men were also arrested on suspicion of rape. The first, a 37-year-old from Blackburn, was released on police bail. The second, a 25-year-old from Penrith, was released under investigation.

Anyone who can help is urged to contact police referencing incident 73 of 24 December 2017.
