[A] Carlisle man has appeared before Carlisle Magistrates Court charged with two alleged offences, that he dishonestly failed to disclose information to make a monetary gain,

Kevin Bailey, 66, allegedly committed fraud by failing to disclose to the Department of Work and Pensions information, namely the true extent of his capital which he was under a legal duty to disclose, in that he was receiving Pension Credits, on dates between March 18, 2013 and March 7, 2016.

The second alleged offence is similar in that he failed to notify Carlisle City Council the true extent of his capital, between April 19, 2010 and March 14, 2016.

Bailey gave his address as Brook Street, off London Road, Carlisle, no plea was indicated.

District Judge Gerald Chalk sent the case to be heard at Carlisle Crown Court on February 23.
