Barrow students connect and promote respect on Safer Internet Day

[S]tudents at Furness College have been supporting a national campaign to promote safe internet use.

As part of Safer Internet Day 2018, learners at the college’s Channelside and Rating Lane campuses took part in a range of activities to promote the slogan ‘Create, Connect and Share Respect’.

A promotional video featuring students and staff at the college discusses the theme of Digital Empathy, and encourages students to put respect and consideration for others at the forefront of their online interactions to create a better and less hurtful experience using the internet.

Members of the Students’ Union based at Rating Lane also supported the online awareness-raising campaign using their social media platforms.

Safer Internet Day 2018 is coordinated in the UK by the UK Safer Internet Centre. The annual event sees hundreds of organisations get involved to help promote the safe, responsible and positive use of digital technology for children and young people.
