[C]umbria Police have charged a man overnight with attempted murder following an incident in a shop in Wigton Road, Carlisle, on Tuesday morning (13 Feb).
Frank Robertson, 60, of Stainton, Penrith is due to appear at Carlisle Magistrates’ Court today (15 Feb).
Officers continue to appeal for anyone with information about this incident who has yet to make contact, to get in touch.
Police were called at 10.47am Tuesday (13th February) following an assault within the P B Sports store.
A male offender entered the store and assaulted a 50-year-old male.
The victim suffered burns to his legs and was taken to the Cumberland Infirmary.
Armed officers were deployed as a precaution.
They would particularly like to hear from anyone who has a dash cam on their vehicle and who drove along Wigton Road between 9am and 12pm on Tuesday.
