[U]nfortunately the snow is affecting some of Allerdale Borough Council’s services.

A spokesman for Allerdale council said: “We apologise to our customers for any inconvenience.

“Customers can use our app and website to report issues to us, as well as pay a bill.

“You can also ring us on 0303 123 1702. For updates follow us on Twitter and Facebook as well as check our website www.allerdale.gov.uk.”

Bin collections
Crews have been unable to collect rubbish and recycling from a number of areas today due to the snow.

Customers are advised to leave their bins and recycling out for collection as our crews will try to revisit properties over the next few days. However, this depends on the weather.

Further updates are available on the council website.

Customer service centre
The customer service centre in Cockermouth library has not been able to open today. All customers are advised to use the the website or app to report things to the council or to pay a bill. Or call 0303 123 1702.

Leisure centres
The Wave Centre in Maryport has been unable to open today due to staff shortages. The pool in Keswick is also closed, though the gym is open as usual. Customers are advised to go to the GLL website for more information at www.better.org.uk/leisure-centre/allerdale

Other information
Information on the roads and schools is available from Cumbria County Council and Cumbria Police. You can keep up to date with the weather via the Met Office, and report any power cuts to Electricity Northwest on 150. A list of other emergency numbers is available from Allerdale Borough Council’s website and app.
