Briony Fawcett, operations director

[A] Cumbria-based training company specialising in getting people back to work has expanded and created a team dedicated to quality from new offices.

PHX Training is supporting a division of the organisation dedicated to bringing the highest levels of quality throughout its business from offices in Barrow and Workington.

This follows accreditation for the company from the leading compliance body in its field in a rigorous assessment, receiving praise as being ‘inspirational’ from the Matrix, which supports individuals in their choice of career, learning, work and life goals.

With expert skills in employability and welfare to work, Briony Fawcett leads the new PHX Training quality team as operations director. The team is joined by new appointment Sandra Wakefield, who takes up the role of quality manager.

Briony said: “As head of quality, Sandra brings a wealth of experience in all aspects of quality and compliance. Working for high profile training and apprenticeship provider learndirect, Sandra’s skills will enable us to keep enhancing the way PHX Training delivers courses across the north west.”

Other members of the team include: Chris Carr, lead assessor; Emily Alderson, audit and compliance lead; Caroline Haigh, quality assurance lead; Ann Fillingham, lead internal quality auditor for work based learning and vocational skills and Peter Taylor, head of learning.

Shirley Williams, development director at PHX Training, said: “Our quality team continues to be strengthened to support our growing range of services for clients.  As a growing company, it is essential that we remain 100 per cent focused on the quality of everything we do.”

From its other Preston offices at Marshall House, the company has been growing its services under the Journey2Work and Adult Skills Education programmes to meet demand in employability along with maths, English and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).

Other training programmes available through the network include business administration, customer service, IT, management, team leading, warehousing, hospitality, health and social care, cleaning services and sales and recruitment.

The PHX team of qualified trainers delivers a diverse range of resources including offline, online and face-to-face services at seven training centres in Barrow, Blackpool, Carlisle, Morecambe, Preston, Workington, Southport.
