[P]enrith Mountain Rescue Team has been involved in over 20 incidents over the last few days.
Incidents ranged from a stranded train, patients requiring medication, care or evacuation to hospital as well as stranded motorists and a desperate 8 hour effort to get to a French lorry driver stranded in an exposed location for 48 hours.
A spokesman for Penrith MRT said: “The callouts took us across to Garrigill, Brampton, Alston, Haltwhistle and Bampton areas.
“We would like to thank Patterdale MRT, Cockermouth MRT and Wasdale MRT for their assistance.”
