Carlisle Crown Court

[T]HREE burglars have admitted breaking into two Alston Moor storage buildings.

The three men appeared at Carlisle Crown Court in connection with crimes they committed on July 18 last year.

Charlie Dunn, 20, and 23-year-old Robbie Lee Simpson admitted burgling and stealing property – including an air rifle – from storage buildings at both Alston, and Garrigill.

A third man, 19-year-old Jack Setchell, of Seaton Lane, Hartlepool, admitted the two burglary charges during an earlier crown court hearing.

The three men also admit posing a danger to road users later the same day when they caused items to be on Elwick Road, Hartlepool, while police were in pursuit. Simpson, of Fremantle Grove, Hartlepool, further admitted driving a Ford Transit can dangerously; and possessing a firearm – an air rifle – when prohibited having previously received a three-year young offender institution sentence.

The case of Simpson, Setchell and Dunn, of Wordsworth Avenue, Hartlepool, was adjourned. They were remanded in custody, and will be sentenced later this week.
