[A] CRIMINAL is facing a lengthy jail term after admitting his 10th burglary.
Jason Foster, 45, had previously denied being involved in a crime which occurred at a home in Carlisle’s Queensway on the evening of September 9 last year. Foster was due to have gone on trial at the city’s crown court today (WED).
But when he appeared in the dock before Recorder Kevin Grice, Foster pleaded guilty to burgling the house having entered as a trespasser, and stealing a Nikon digital camera.
Another man, 42-year-old James Felton Queen, had previously admitted a burglary charge in relation to the same incident.
Defending Foster, lawyer Ian Hudson said: “He knows what is going to happen.”
Foster, of Port Road, Carlisle, was said to have nine previous burglaries on his criminal record, and is subject to a three-year minimum prison sentence for repeat offending.
Recorder Grice adjourned the case. Foster was remanded in custody and was told he and Queen, of Raffles Avenue, Carlisle, will be sentenced at the crown court tomorrow (THURS).
