Jason Foster and James Queen

[A] DRUNKEN burglar who broke into his half-sister’s Carlisle home and stole a camera containing sentimental family snaps has been jailed.

James Felton Queen, 42, and 45-year-old partner-in-crime Jason Foster vaulted over a high fence before sneaking into Rachel Williams’ city home on the evening of September 9.

After hearing banging, Ms Williams was confronted with her half-brother Queen and Foster – a former work colleague – as she went downstairs.

The men were ordered to leave by the householder, who noted belongings had been “rifled through” and moved. A digital camera which contained sentimental family photographs had been stolen. It was later recovered from Queen.

There were footprints on a floor. And prosecutor Richard Bennett told Carlisle Crown Court: “It would seem that someone had helped themselves to some breakfast cereal.”

Both men admitted burglary and were sentenced at the crown court today (THURS).

Foster, of Port Road, Carlisle – a man with 190 offences to his name – was jailed for 985 days. Queen, of Raffles Avenue, Carlisle, who has 209 crimes on his record, received a 16-months prison term.
