The launch of Carlisle Fringe Festival

[O]rganisers of Carlisle Fringe launched a call to take part in the third edition of the festival at an event with business leaders today.

The team producing the event are looking to connect with ideas from businesses, venues, performers and partners who want to help put Carlisle on the map.

A team of producers will be looking to meet up with venue managers over the next four weeks and anyone who is interested in taking part is encouraged to get in touch.

Executive Producer, Graham Main said: “We are inviting businesses and venues to consider doing something a little out of the ordinary.

“The brilliant thing about Fringe, is that it can take place absolutely anywhere.  It is a great opportunity to engage the public in a fun and unusual way, and our call goes out to businesses across the city to put on something special and be included.”

The 2018 event will run from 24th August to 2nd September and will include two weekends of free live music in the city centre and will be opened with the City Pageant which will run the week before hand, and is presented in collaboration with Prism Arts.

Performers, young or old, have been invited to apply to present work at the festival and registration to take part closes on 28th May at 5pm.

Anyone who is interested can contact the team on Facebook, or by calling 01228 812611 or by logging onto their website.

Carlisle Fringe is supported by Carlisle City Council and produced by Electric Theatre Workshop.
