[A] FREE festival celebrating Health & Well-being will take place on Saturday 30th June at Barrow AFC, Holker Street Stadium from 11am to 3pm.

Cumbria County Council’s Community Development team (Barrow), Barrow & Furness Rotary Clubs, Barrow AFC and NHS Integrated Community Care have come together to organise a Wellness and Community Fun Day.

The event is aimed at building stronger, happier, healthier communities along the lines of the Eden Project, The Big Lunch: that as many people as possible across the UK have lunch with their community sometime in June in a simple act of community, friendship and fun with the addition of a Wellness Market Place and Health MOT station.

There will be a range of FREE activities on offer, from traditional sports day games to Yoga and Mindfulness.  There will also be a “Well-being market place” providing information, free MOT health checks; top tips for better health, healthy eat advice and demonstrations.

Cumbria County Council Community Development Officer, Simonetta Tiribocchi said; “BeWellFest is a place to be inspired, try something new and most importantly, have fun!  Bring a picnic and enjoy a free fun day, plus there is no limit on the amount of activities you can do.

“So whether you want to pick up some tips or perhaps learn a bit about nutrition and healthy recipes, there will be plenty to choose from.”
