[K]eswick’s Fitz Park is set to reverberate with the sound of classical music again with the return of the popular outdoor concert. Set in the beautiful surroundings of Fitz Park, everyone will be welcome to enjoy an evening of popular classical music and opera on Saturday 30 June.
Tony Lywood, one of the organisers from Keswick Town Council said “We are looking forward to wonderful programme organised by local musician Shelagh Hughes to give us a taste of classical music and opera at our very own Prom in the Park. The evening will culminate in our version of last night of the proms led by soprano Emily Robinson alongside Burneside Brass Band. This year we are encouraging everyone to bring their own Union Jacks and join in the finale.”
Other performances will include James Marczak (Tenor) accompanied by Alex Phillips- Yates and Skiddaw Strings a local youth violin group led by Louise Peacock. The music will begin at 4pm and you are welcome to bring your own picnic or take advantage of the grapevine mobile bar or food from Café West. The prom this year is sponsored by Caterite Foodservice.
Prom in the Park is part of the Keswick Midsummer Festival organised by Keswick Town Council.
