[A]t 6:52pm yesterday, Monday 9 July firefighters were called to a grass fire by the Asda supermarket on Moss Bay Road in Workington.
On arrival crews discovered around 50 square metres of grass gorseland well alight.
A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Firefighters used two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.
“They then damped down the area to make it safe.
“Firefighters were in attendance for around an hour and 45 minutes.”
At 11:35pm yesterday firefighters were also called to a fire involving grass and gorse bushes at a farm on the Braithwaite to Buttermere road in Newlands.
On arrival crews discovered that the fire involved around 100 square metres of grass and gorse.
A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Firefighters used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire and were in attendance for around 20 minutes.”
