[D]INOSAUR dinners are to be served up at a series of cooking classes led by local celebrity chef John Crouch.
In support of its summer feature exhibition, The Beacon Museum in Whitehaven will be hosting charismatic local chef and food historian John Crouch for a day of cookery capers, for all ages, on Tuesday, August 7.
Mr Crouch will be leading two children’s cooking demonstrations during the afternoon where participants can learn to cook dinosaur-themed snacks. There will also be opportunities to taste his curious creations throughout. Mr Crouch will be joined on the day by his assistant chefs, T-Rexs Chomper and Stomper.
Mr Crouch said: “When I was told that I would be cooking with dinosaurs I thought I had misheard The Beacon Museum team. But I can assure you after doing extensive research, no dinosaurs, or children for that matter, will end up on our ingredients list during the show.”
The children’s demonstrations are priced at £3 per child and will take place at 1pm and 2.30pm and are suitable for those aged four plus. Booking is essential.
A third cookery demonstration will be held on the evening of August 7 in support of the Friends of The Beacon Museum’s new term launch. The theme of the event is ‘A history of Cumbrian Cuisine’ and guests will have the chance to feast on local delights whilst enjoying the evening’s entertainment.
Ian Rule, Chairman of The Friends of The Beacon Museum, said: “This event promises to be a celebration of what we have in store for the next year.
“Anyone interested in local heritage, I urge you to try this out as we want to keep telling the story of Copeland for years to come and we would love to welcome new faces.”
This evening event starts at 7.30pm and is free of charge for Friends of the Museum members, £2 per head for non-members, all ages welcome.
All events listed above must be booked in advance via The Beacon Museum by calling 01946 592302 or emailing [email protected]. For more information go to the museum’s website www.thebeacon-whitehaven.co.uk.
