Jerry Hawker

[N]HS Morecambe Bay Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is pleased to announce that Jerry Hawker has been appointed as their new Chief Officer. This will take effect on 10 September 2018.

Jerry replaces Andrew Bennett for a one year period as Andrew fulfils a secondment into the Integrated Care System for Lancashire and South Cumbria as the Executive Lead for Commissioning.

Jerry joined the NHS in 2005 and has held a wide range of executive roles in Central and Eastern Cheshire PCT before joining NHS Eastern Cheshire CCG as its Chief Officer in 2013.

Prior to joining the NHS, he spent over 15 years in the specialty chemical industry and latterly running his own business consultancy company. He graduated as a Polymer Scientist and holds a corporate MBA from Babson College, USA.

Jerry is a strong advocate for using patients, carers and families’ experiences of the care system as a driver for change and helping to create a culture of continuous improvement through an integrated care system.

Jerry said: ”I am delighted and privileged to join the great team at Morecambe Bay CCG and I’m really looking forward to working with all our members and partners to drive further improvements for the local community that we serve.”

Dr Geoff Jolliffe, newly appointed Clinical Chair of Morecambe Bay CCG said: “We are delighted to welcome Jerry to Morecambe Bay CCG, who brings with him a wealth of experience in improving health and care services.”

“Jerry is passionate about working in partnership with our local community and is dedicated to designing services around the needs of individuals. We know he will represent the needs of our populations and our workforce across Morecambe Bay well.”

Dr Jolliffe added: “On behalf of my CCG colleagues, I would like to thank Andrew for his hard work, commitment and drive in leading the Clinical Commissioning Group since 2013 and we wish him all the very best for the future and in his new role.”
