[S]taff and students at Queen Elizabeth Grammar School are delighted with the 2018 A-level results.

Headteacher Paul Buckland said: “The tremendous results are testament to the incredible hard work of our students and that of the inspirational and dedicated staff, who are always willing to put in the extra hours to help our young people realise their full potential.

“The results underline their seven year commitment to study and come in spite of significant changes to A-level courses affecting all schools. We will share accurate headline figures with the media, parents and all stakeholders once the normal queries over re-marks and grade boundaries have been dealt with and official DfE checks have been completed.

“For now we should focus on the achievements of the individual students, such as both our Head Boy, Toby Collard and Head Girl, Sophie Thomas who both achieved a string of A grades. Other notable achievers are Praharsh Babu, Thomas Ford, Harry Gray, Camilla McKnespiey, Thomas Ford and Sophie Bauer, all of whom produced strings of A* and A grades. We are delighted that so many of our students achieved the highest grades and have secured places, including 5 at Oxbridge, for the next stage of their lives.”
