Young visitors to Dunmail Park had fun exploring a re-created version of A A Milne’s Hundred Acre Wood in an event inspired by the Winnie the Pooh stories on Saturday 18th August.
In celebration of the release of the new Christopher Robin film, the shopping centre gave children the chance to learn about owls at Owl’s house from Cumbria based Silverband Falconry, make a Winnie the Pooh sculpture from recycled materials at Pooh Bear’s house, and search for cuddly toy Roos for the chance to win a prize.

Additionally, children learnt how honey is made and the importance of bees to the eco system from the Whitehaven & District Beekeepers Association, before taking home their own jar of Winnie the Pooh’s favourite sweet treat.
Mr Donald Dixon, Managing Director of J Dixon & Son Ltd, owners of Dunmail Park, commented: “Our free event proved to be extremely popular with families and it was lovely seeing children come along dressed as Christopher Robin. The Winnie the Pooh stories are much loved and we hope the event got everyone excited about the latest movie.”

Disney’s Christopher Robin film will be showing at The Plaza until Thursday 30th August. For further information and timings, please visit www.workington-plaza.co.uk.
