An injured mountain biker was rescued from Grizedale Forest after coming off her bike.
Coniston Mountain Rescue Team was called at around 11.15am yesterday, Thursday June 4, to the forest by Cumbria police.
The team said: “It was a very wet and blustery morning.
“Two vehicles were deployed and one member went direct. Fortunately, we were able to drive on the forest tracks straight to her location.
“She was part of a group of cyclists who did well to protect her from the weather.
“We erected a shelter and extra warmth was provided whilst the lady was assessed.
“She had injured her neck, upper arm and shoulder and was given pain relief. The North West Ambulance Service arrived and we handed her over to them for her onward journey to Furness General Hospital in Barrow.”
