Join the fun at Ulverston’s vintage themed ‘Be Well’ Festival

Members of the public are invited to join the fun and have conversations about their health and wellbeing at Ulverston’s ‘Be Well’ Festival, with the theme this year being a Vintage Fun Day.

The local Rotary clubs working in partnership with the Ulverston, Dalton and Askam Integrated Care Community team are inviting members of the public, health professionals and partner organisations to the Ulverston ‘Be Well’ Festival, which will take place on Saturday 8th September between 11am and 3pm.

The event, which will be spread out across various venues in Ulverston town centre is completely free and will be packed with lots of fun-filled activities for all the family.

Dr Alison Johnston, local GP in Ulverston said: “The ‘Be Well’ Festival is a chance for people to get together, have some fun and think about their health and wellbeing. On the day there will be something for everyone including arts and crafts for children, walking and mindfulness taster sessions along with healthy eating advice with free samples!

“We hope to see lots of people on the day, having fun and investing in their health and wellbeing.”
In line with this year’s vintage theme, the festival will offer an opportunity to try out old time dancing and a chance to get see some vintage vehicles up close.

Visitors will also have an opportunity to have a health and wellbeing MOT which includes blood pressure checks and Body Mass Index (BMI) measurements. Health professionals will be on hand to provide advice and top tips for better health.

Additionally, the Flannery Centre and Red Rose Recreation Club will be packed with stalls offering all types of wellbeing information and freebies.

The event will be taking place at the following venues on Saturday 8th September between 11am – 3pm:

  • Ulverston town centre
  • Ulverston Library, Kings Road, Ulverston LA12 0BT
  • The Flannery Centre, Victoria Road, Ulverston, LA12 0BY
  • Red Rose Recreation Club, Victoria Road, Ulverston, LA12 0BY

Ulverston’s ‘Be Well’ Festival has been organised by the local Rotary clubs, Cumbria County Council, the Ulverston Dalton and Askam Integrated Care Communities, South Lakeland District Council, Ulverston Town Council and the Ulverston Leisure Centre.
