Staff and Partners at Chartered Accountancy firm, Lamont Pridmore, have celebrated the success of one of the firm’s up and coming young accountants who has completed a series of tough professional exams.
Michael Fearon, an Accounts Technician at the firm’s offices in Workington, has completed the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) qualification following several years of hard work at the award-winning practice.
Alongside his day-to-day duties preparing accounts and returns, Michael has been studying hard to complete the accreditation which requires entrants to sit 14 exams and complete a minimum of three years in practice.
Reflecting on the completion of the qualification, Michael said: “I am really delighted to have completed the ACCA. It has been a long, and at times, a difficult journey, which has seen me learn a lot about the profession and the businesses that we serve.
“The support from the firm and my fellow colleagues has been fantastic and I can’t thank them enough for everything that they have done.”
During his training, Lamont Pridmore paid for his course fees and books, gave Michael time off for his exams and even covered the cost of his accommodation when he had to sit exams away from home.
Graham Lamont, Chief Executive at Lamont Pridmore, said: “We are all very proud of what Michael has managed to achieve. The work required to obtain this qualification is significant and so he should be very proud of what he has achieved.
“This qualification, which is internationally recognised, demonstrates the high level of expertise that he is able to offer to our clients.”
Lamont Pridmore has a long history of supporting staff with their training and has helped several junior staff members complete a number of prestigious qualifications.
Its dedication to training the next generation of accountants is just one of the reasons that it was declared the Best Business to Work for at this year’s National Family Business Awards.
