Cllr Elizabeth Mallinson

Cumbria County Council Chairman, Cllr Elizabeth Mallinson recently visited Barn Close Residential Care Home in Stanwix, Carlisle, on Friday 5 October. The visit is part of Cllr Mallinson’s schedule of visits to local community organisations and projects across the county.

Commenting on the visit, Cllr Elizabeth Mallinson, said: “It was an absolute pleasure to be invited to lunch at Barn Close, which is in my Stanwix constituency. Everyone was so welcoming and I had a lovely afternoon chatting to the residents, sharing good food and admiring their immaculate gardens.

“One of my aims when appointed to the role of Chairman earlier this year was to get out and about as much as possible and visit as many of the fantastic communities throughout Cumbria as possible. I’m really looking forward to the rest of my forthcoming visits too.”

Cllr Mallinson has already visited a number of community projects and organisations since her appointment in April 2018, including Cumbria Pride, Cumbria in Bloom, University of Cumbria Graduation Ceremonies and the Tour of Britain. Forthcoming visits include Remembrance Sunday, Cumbria Sports Awards and the Multicultural Carlisle Conference.
