
A West Cumbrian man has appeared from custody at Carlisle Magistrates Court today (THURS) charged with three allegations that he `made indecent photographs / pseudo photograph of a child` on November 6 at Workington.
Matthew Anthony Daley, 30, gave his address as Bell Isle Street, Workington, when the three charges were read out to him in court, he said `no-plea would be entered`.
The allegations are he made four indecent category A images, one in category B and eight category C, the court was told the accusation is that young children were involved.
District Judge Gerald Chalk was told police received information that Daley had been accused of downloading illegal images and among these were allegedly some disturbing images, some were in category A, which is the most serious of images.
The judge was informed by his lawyer Emily Smith that he has mental health issues and “he is one, that has perhaps fallen through the net” (Mental Health system) he has had personal problems for over 20-years Ms Smith said.
The judge said he declined jurisdiction in this case and remanded Daley into custody to appear at Carlisle Crown Court on December 10.
