At 5:09pm on Wednesday 9 January two fire engines from Wigton and Carlisle west attended a road traffic collision with persons trapped on Low Eskrigg, Kirkbride.
On arrival crews found the incident to be involving two vehicles with two persons trapped.
A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Crews released one casualty from a vehicle using stabfast, hydraulic cutting gear and small tools.
“Two casualties were seen by ambulance crews with one being transported to hospital.
“Crews were in attendance for one hour and twenty minutes.”
