At 5:09am today, Friday 18th of January three fire engines from Whitehaven and Frizington attended a fire on Heather Bank, Cleator Moor involving a kitchen at a domestic property.
A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Firefighters used one hose reel and two breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire.
“One casualty suffered from smoke inhalation and was treated by the ambulance service.
“Fire crews were in attendance for forty minutes.”
