Cumbria Constabulary can confirm that an investigation into saline bags that were allegedly tampered with at the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle has concluded.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “A woman, from Wigton, who was arrested in connection with the investigation, will face no further action.

“The decision was made by the Crown Prosecution Service following a thorough police investigation.

“North Cumbria University Hospitals Trust worked closely with police throughout the investigation, which commenced in January 2017.”
