Hairy Bikers at their recent show in Barrow

The Save Grange Lido team have presented TV’s Hairy Bikers with matching SGL aprons at their recent show in Barrow.

The gesture was to thank Barrow born Dave Myers, who recently backed the campaign to save the historic pool with a personal video message on Facebook.

Dave was a regular visitor to the Lido in his younger days, catching the train from Barrow.

On Tuesday evening the Hairy Bikers kicked off a nationwide tour with a show at the Forum in Barrow.

Dave Myers said: “I remember going to Grange Baths in my younger days. The pool was amazing and when it closed 25 years it was a huge loss to the community. I have so many wonderful memories of my time there which is why I’m supporting this campaign to Save Grange Lido.

“I’d love to see the Lido open again, thriving, serving the local community and bringing people to our wonderful part of the world. Please support my friends at Save Grange Lido who are crowdfunding to restore this stunning art deco landmark. Let’s get this place back to its former glory.”
