Workington Town Council is once again hosting their annual sports festival. The event will take place across three venues: Vulcan Park, Hall Park and Workington Leisure Centre, on Saturday 18th May 2019.
The event is planned from 11am-4pm, with set time slots for some activities. Participants can choose from; street art, archery, panna football, cheerleading, boxing, football coaching, games and more.
New for 2019 is the addition of the Atlantis Inflatable (Leisure Centre pool activity), healthy eating cookery demonstrations by Helen’s Herbs, craft activities by Crafty Kidz West Cumbria and Face Painting by Moss Bay Arts.
Cllr Joan Wright, Chair of the Council’s Culture Committee commented, ‘This annual event is an opportunity to try new activities and sports completely free of charge and all sessions are led by professional instructors. Our aim is to get people out of the house and active and as this event has such a variety of activities, there is something for everyone ’.
