Appeal to identify Levens cold callers

Police are investigating three reports relating to a man in Levens on Tuesday 19th March 2019.

The reports are of two public order offences and a common assault.

The man, who was with another man, attended addresses in the village.

The men, stated to residents that they were young offenders on a rehabilitation scheme and were trying to sell products.

There were no injuries.

The man is described as young, had a beard and wearing a grey bobble hat. He was carrying a hold all.

Police are trying to obtain the identity of this male, anyone with any information please contact 101, quoting log number 169 of the 19th of March, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Householders should be cautious when approached by any cold callers. If you can, put your door on the chain or open a small window to answer an unknown person.

They should be happy to provide you with identification on request and should be happy to wait whist you make any checks for authenticity. You have the right to not answer your door to a member of the public or to ask them to leave and they should do so immediately.

You should never be made to feel pressured or intimidated to make a purchase.
