At 10:09pm yesterday, Friday 19 April four fire engines from Carlisle East, Carlisle West, Longtown and Penrith were mobilised to a road traffic collision, with reports of one person trapped at Houghton, Carlisle.
A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “On arrival fire fighters dealt with an accident involving a heavy goods vehicle and one car.
“They released one casualty using hydraulic cutting gear.
“Police and ambulance were also in attendance.
“Firefighters were on scene for approximately seventy minutes.”
