Police are investigating an incident of criminal damage which occurred in the Workington dock area between 5pm on Saturday 27 April and 10am on Sunday 28 April.
Significant damage has been caused to a number of railings and fence posts on the coast-to-coast path leading to the lighthouse.
The estimated damage is around £4,000.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact PC2741 Carty on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
