March 2019 – Full Steam Ahead

Dodd & Co, Chartered Accountants & Business Advisers, launch their annual calendar competition and are looking for your best images of the last 20 years.

The accountancy firm with offices in Carlisle and Penrith have been creating their own ‘Doddie Calendar’ for many years now, and it continues to be in popular demand with clients and staff regularly submitting photos and eagerly awaiting its publication in early December.

Each year the firm announces a different theme for budding photographers to send in their photographs with a chance to win a place in the Annual Doddie Calendar. Countless entries are forwarded but only twelve photographs manage to make the final cut!

June 2019 – Whitby Waves

To mark the milestone year of 2020, Dodd & Co have decided to celebrate the last two decades and take a look back at the last 20 years since the millennium! A lot has happened since then and therefore they are looking for new and unique photos to celebrate the huge number of events, changes and new beginnings since the year 2000.

Do you remember where you were for the millennium? Do you have photos of landmarks which have disappeared since 2000? Were you in London at the time of the Olympics? Were you part of a street party for one of the many royal celebrations? The firm is urging not only its 170 staff but everyone to get hunting through their archives and their cupboards for those special pictures and memories that have taken place in the first 20 years of this millennium.

Alison Johnston, Partner at Dodd & Co, and part of the judging team for deciding the final twelve, said “We’re so excited to see the entries this year. With such a huge milestone we decided we had to do something to celebrate it! Some of our brilliant Doddie team weren’t even born in 2000 and they can’t believe some of the changes that have happened in just 20 years!”

Previous winners have always received a bottle of champagne and some copies of the calendar for themselves, family and friends. However, new for this year, the firm have also decided to offer a star prize of a £100 voucher for a place of the winner’s choosing to the photographer of the overall best image of the 12 chosen.

If you have any photos you think might fit the theme please send over your entries to [email protected] by 31st October 2019.
