Police are investigating a violent attack which occurred at 9:30pm on Tuesday 9 July on Warwick Road in Carlisle.
Following the Carlisle United friendly with Hibernian, a group of four males were walking along away from the ground when one man was attacked resulting in serious facial injuries.
The 27-year-old victim was wearing a white Ellesse t-shire and black jacket and was in a group with three other males.
One of which was wearing a bright green jacket and had blond hair.
Anyone who witnessed the group of visiting supports being attacked is asked to contact PC2050 Black on 101, Ext 42050 quoting log 236 of 9 July.
