The Thomson Hayton Winkley dragon boat racing team, the 80’s Disco Thor Bottoms, have won the trophy for the team who raised the most money at the Dragon Bay 2019 event on Windermere.
The team made up of colleagues from across the firm raised an incredible £2411 for their nominated charity; Mountain Rescue, Kendal. In being recognised for their fund raising efforts the team, who were one of 15, were presented with the Glass Trophy. The total amount raised for charities on the day was over £14,000.
The presentation of funds will be made to the Mountain Rescue Kendal in due course.
Kayleigh Hunter, Property Solicitor with THW legal, who organised the team from the Kendal office said: “It was such an amazing day. We have been fund raising in the Kendal office over the last few months and the generosity of our colleagues, the firm, clients and our friends and family has been overwhelming.
It really has been a fun team building experience with team members from different departments of the business and our friends and family from different parts of the country coming together to take part and raise money for Charity.
As a group of people that live and enjoy our leisure time in the Lakes and the surrounding areas it is great to be supporting Kendal Mountain Rescue and we have been lucky enough to have a visit to their depot and even meet the Search Dogs. We’re delighted to have raised £2,411 to support their incredible work in the area.”
There will be a presentation of funds to Kendal Mountain Rescue later this month.
