On Sunday 4th August, Workington Town Council and Cumberland Athletic Club hosted a ‘Festival of Running’ at Workington Leisure Centre.
The event was well attended with 380 runners signing up for the 1K, 5K and 10K races.
Sheila McVeigh, Cumberland Athletic Club Secretary said: “We are delighted with how the event went, the Marshalls and staff were superb on the day and we are so grateful for their help.
“The event offered something for everyone and there was a really nice atmosphere throughout the day with people enjoying hot food, drinks and the kids getting involved in the face painting, crafts and entertainment with Imagination Parties.
“The highlight for me was seeing the children return from the 1K race and the look of delight on their faces, it’s moments like that, that make it all worthwhile.”
