Carlisle band to play at Greystoke Beer Festival on Friday 13th September 2019
“Over The Hill” are a recently formed rock band of five music lovers from the Carlisle area – four retirees and a younger member drafted in to play drums.
The five piece group comprises two vocalists, a guitarist, and a bass guitarist as well as the drummer.
They perform covers of numbers mainly from the ’60s and ’70s in the rock, blues and country/rock genres. The money they have raised from gigs to date has gone to the charity Hospice at Home. This time they are playing on the local bands night for the Greystoke Beer Festival, which is a main fundraiser for the Greystoke and District Sports Association.
Without fundraising the Association would not be able to continue running the outdoor swimming pool, the football pitch and the children’s play area. Over this autumn and winter major improvements will be taking place to update the changing rooms, showers and café area. A great resource for all the community.
Starting at 7pm on Friday night, the Greystoke Beer Festival is centred on the Village Hall and an adjacent Marquee and promises to be a great night out.
The ticket price includes Live music from three local bands, hot food prepared by local chef Ian Douthwaite and an engraved “Greystoke Beer Festival” glass. The evening starts with Greystoke regulars “The Flooks” and up and coming band “Haphazard”, with “Over the Hill” headlining the night.
Tickets for the night are available for £12 at the Greystoke Post Office and The Boot and Shoe village pub. Or they are available on line with no booking fee at www.greystokebeerfestival.btck.co.uk/purchasetickets
