Students at Lakes College showed off their baking skills and took part in The Great Hospice Cake Off, baking and selling their delicious creations to help raise money and support local charity Hospice at Home West Cumbria.

The Hospitality and Catering students baked and decorated a range of tasty treats, and sold them to fellow students and members of the college team.

Kirsty Stewart, catering tutor, commented, “Our students did an amazing job today and I’m so proud of them for baking and selling their homemade cakes to raise money for Hospice at Home. We are always looking for ways to help out the local community and events like this give us the perfect opportunity to do so.”

Their efforts managed to raise over £140 which will go straight to the Hospice at Home West Cumbria charity and help to provide care for those in need within the local community.

Hospice at Home West Cumbria offer personalised high-quality palliative and end of life care to people in West Cumbria. Every penny raised stays within the county and helps local people and their families.
