The UK’s leading manager and developer of retirement communities, McCarthy and Stone, has released pricing and apartment specifications for its latest Retirement Living development, Lancaster Court on Isel Road in Cockermouth.

McCarthy and Stone announced last year it would be constructing a new Retirement Living development to help meet continued demand for those looking to downsize in and around the area. When complete in spring 2020, Lancaster Court will comprise a selection of Retirement Living apartments for the over 60s.

With construction well underway at Lancaster Court, potential purchasers can now make the most of their first opportunity to reserve their preferred property off-plan. All those interested in finding out more can visit the Lancaster Court marketing suite at 65 Main Street, Cockermouth, CA13 9LU which is open to the public from Tuesday 1st October. The experienced McCarthy and Stone team are on-hand to answer any questions and take reservations Tuesday to Saturday from 10.30am until 5pm.

Liz Green, Regional Sales and Marketing Director at McCarthy and Stone North East, commented: “We are looking forward to breathing new life into this area of Cockermouth and to boosting the choice available for local retirees with our new development, Lancaster Court.

“Our experienced sales team will be on hand to provide assistance throughout each stage of the moving process, removing any of the hassles associated with moving home and allowing purchasers to focus on enjoying their new apartment. As we’ve already seen significant interest in the new apartments at Lancaster Court we would encourage anyone interested in purchasing to get in touch with our sales team or visit our off-site marketing suite to avoid disappointment.”

Future homeowners at Lancaster Court will benefit from a communal lounge, where they can relax and socialise with new neighbours; beautifully landscaped gardens, which will be fully maintained by McCarthy and Stone’s expert team; a guest suite for when friends or family come to stay;  and a stunning roof terrace with views over Cockermouth Castle.

All of the apartments will be fitted-out to the highest specification including a modern kitchen with integrated appliances, spacious and open-plan living areas, and stylish en-suite bathrooms. For added peace-of-mind, a House Manager will be on hand to take care of the smooth-running of the development, as well as a 24 hour emergency call system should assistance be needed day or night.

Cockermouth stands as a gateway to the beautiful Lake District National park. The town still runs along its original ancient street patterns and has a characterful mix of historical architecture. One of the town’s main landmarks is Cockermouth Castle, with its original 13th Century dungeons open to the public during the town’s July festival. Additionally, Cockermouth has a wide array of amenities and independent local traders for residents to choose from.
